Diana Chan

Diana Chan received her Bachelor of Music and her Bachelor of Education from UBC where she studied oboe with Beth Orson and conducting with Dr. Robert Taylor. She also holds A.R.C.T. Diplomas in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
A recent graduate from UBC, Diana strives to maintain a balance in her performance and teaching career. She is currently the Band Director at Argyle Secondary in North Vancouver and the Music Director of the Langley Concert Band. As an oboist, Diana has enjoyed performing with various ensembles in the Lower Mainland, including the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, Post Modern Camerata and the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra. During her time at UBC, she was a member of the UBC Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds, and completed a West Coast Tour with the Wind Ensemble and a Western Canadian Tour with the Orchestra. She also took part in the Concerts in Care Program, initially as part of a Wind Quintet and an oboe/piano duo, where she performed in care homes around the Lower Mainland. Diana believes that music creates strong connections between people, performers and audience members, and she hopes to continue sharing her love and passion for music with others.
Diana has been a member of the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra since 2014 and is looking forward to another great season! diana
